Sun and Beaches

​Nerja’s coastline offers some of the province’s most beautiful and popular beaches. The beaches vary from long sandy beaches to small secluded coves characterized by its calm and crystal clear waters. On the beaches are often chiringuitos, which are small, simple restaurants often specialize in seafood – guaranteed fresh!

The fantastic climate in Nerja means 300 days of sunshine per year, giving an opportunity to really enjoy the area’s many beaches and water sports facilities greater part of the year.

Oasis de Capistrano where our apartment is located has two large swimming pools and a smaller pool for children. All beautifully located in the tropical gardens that surround the area. With access to simpler Bar / Resturant. Burriana beach is the closest beach to our apartment only 500 meters away, takes about 10 minutes walk.

Playa Burriana: Located on the east side of Nerja and is the most popular beach. The 800 meter long sandy beach is nicely surrounded by mountains. On the beach are offered all kinds of water sports, scuba diving and kayaking, there is also the possibility to rent sun loungers for those who wish. On the beach promenade are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.

Torrecilla: A 300 meter long sandy beach with shallow and calm water. La Torrecilla gets its name from Torrecilla guard tower located next to the beach.
There are both restaurants and the possibility to rent beach chairs. Can get very busy in high season.

Playa Caletilla: The beach is located just below the Balcony of Europe in front of the Hotel Europe. A small cozy sandy beach surrounded by cliffs. Can get quite crowded during peak season.

Playa El Salon: A beautiful beach right on the Balcony of Europe, beyond Playa Caletilla, with calm and crystal clear waters. The locals favorite. Go down the stairs from the Balcon de Europa to get to the beach.

Playa Calahonda: This beautiful 120 meters long, u-shaped beach is located just to the left of the Balcony of Europe, and is called “Fisherman’s Beach”. Approached via a staircase at the Balcony of Europe.

El Chorrillo: El Chorrillo is a small bay, only 50 meters long, which can be accessed from the Balcon de Europa or by Calahonda beach. Can get a little crowded during the high season.

Carabeo: A nice little beach surrounded by cliffs that protect from the wind. The beach is only accessible by foot from the street Calle Varabeo in Nerja.

Carabeillo: A small beach of approximately 70 meters. It lies at the end of Calle Carabeo and can be reached from the beach Playa de Burriana.

Playa el Cañuelo: Playa el Cañuelo is a 350 meter long pebble beach and one of the area’s most beautiful beaches. With crystal clear waters and scenic surroundings. Getting here: Take the N340 towards Almunecar, and turn off at exit 302.

El Playazo: A 1,800-meter-long beach located southwest of the center of Nerja. Are a number of water activities. Very easily accessible from Nerja and easy to park.

El Chucho: The beach is located just a few hundred meters west of the center of Nerja and is situated at the mouth of the Rio Chillar. The beach is 200 meters long and a favorite among visitors to Nerja. In high season it can get a bit crowded.
