Sierra Nevada ski system
Is the most southerly ski system in Europe and is located at Mount Veleta which is Spain’s third highest mountain 3398möh. Thanks to the high altitude you can enjoy skiing here from late November until early May.
1996 held Alpine World Ski Championships here and it is also regularly hosts FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.
Fall height of the system is 1200m, there are 29 lifts and 102km with pistes and because the whole system is above the tree line, are there opportunity to go everywhere on the mountain.
Sierra Nevada ski system is only 1hr and 30min drive from Nerja, meaning that late in the season, you can ski in the morning and take a dip in the pool in Nerja in the afternoon, a great combination.
At the ski system it is possibility to rent skis and other equipment.
